A Friendly Feast And Cultural Exchange
Kong Quan and Jean Pierre Raffarin at Ferrandi

It was a culinary and cultural summit that took place in Paris on May 4. To celebrate the French-Chinese Friendship, Culinary and Cultural representatives from both countries met at a lunch, organized by the non profit foundation Prospective et Innovation.
Alltogether there were 24 guests all supporting French-Chinese friendship. It was a working lunch where each participant gave some indications and ideas to develop the friendship between China and France based on culture, with a special focus on the youth, as well as food.
The lunch took place at École Ferrandi, a Hospitality-Restaurant Cooking School, belonging to the Paris Chamber of Commerce with 1500 students, from apprentice to the masters level. The perfect food service by the students was in classical french style, a real ballet. The french food was excellent, served with Great Wall chinese wines.
A first award, le Prix Bernardaud, was given by Jean Pierre Raffarin and Michel Bernardaud to Julien Gaudfroy, 32, for his passion and knowledge of Chinese culture. Also, his ability to speak Mandarin is a perfect example of integration in China. He works and lives in China, as a host for TV programs on CCTV.

Three Chinese DVD were given:
1. The Food on the Silk Road 3 minutes presentation, plus the first episode of Silk Road 2. It documents the Chinese Foods that came to Europe through the Silk Road.
2. The 12 minutes film made for China Unesco presentation of
China Food Culture, made by China Food Television, for the Chinese institutions and the Association of Chinese Cuisine.
3. The Great Wines of the World presentation,and Cognac Frapin Show.
Pierre Lellouche presented the French DVD of the "So Good, So French" food show that will be seen on world televisions. He announced the Festival Mondial de la Gastronomie Française of July 14, 2011. Finally he previewed the "Maisons de la Gastronomie Française" at the major world fairs, airports and shopping centers.
