The Magnet For Cookbook Professionals
Gourmand at the London Book Fair 2011

One month after the Paris Cookbook Fair the three days of London Book Fair in April have been a backslide into the usual bookfair business. Again cookbooks got lost between publishers from all over the globe presenting the whole market from Fantasy and Crime to Comics and religious topics.
The LBF/Gourmand Cookbook Corner stood as a rock in this confusing ocean of books. Publishers, authors and chefs met at the stand, had talks about copyright exchange or presented new digital developments to other professionals.
The programme of the show kitchen at the stand has been an important magnet for publical and professional visitors. 15 chefs from all over the world presented their cuisine and their books. From UK star chefs as Pascal Aussignac (UK/France) to Datuk Chef Wan, the Food Ambassador
from Malaysia or Mircea Dinescu from Romania. "I planned to visit several stands, but after the show of Chef Wan in the morning I stayed the whole day", said one visitor at the end of the first day.
For Gourmand the London Book Fair has been extremly successful. The fresh memory from Paris made many professionals curious for the next edition in the French capital.
Some visitors who came as VIP professionals to Paris took the opportunity in London to discuss their own stand at the Cookbook Fair 2012. "The more we are present at usual bookfairs the more we realize the demand of a specialized fair as Paris Cookbook Fair", Edouard Cointreau IV, who has been head of the Gourmand team because of the absence of his father, who was in Beijing.
