„From Yvette´s Kitchen to Your Table - A Treasury of St. Martin’s Traditional & Contemporary Cuisine" by Yvette Hyman (picture) has been released in St. Martin (Carribean) by House of Nehesi Publishers (HNP). Among the book’s 312 colorful pages, classic favorites such as souse, Johnny cake, Conch Yvette’s, lamb stew, coconut tart, guavaberry and soursop drink are just a few of the over 200 recipes à la Yvette to be found in this book. The posthumous title has been in the making since 1989. As HNP’s projects director Sekou had approached Hyman over 20 years ago about publishing her recipes as a unique book of St. Martin’s cuisine and an aspect of cultural heritage. The book’s beautiful design by Angelo and Gina Rombley include photographs of actual dishes and drinks, both traditional and those developed by Yvette.

Chef KC Wallberg (picture) and Chef Görgen Tidén (both from Sweden) represented their country at the „Festival d‘Europa" in Florence last weekend. More than 200 visitors have been invited to a special culinary travel through the Swedish cuisine.

Wolfgang Kießling has been one of the youngest pastry master chefs in Germany and worked on luxury cruiseliners such as "Queen Mary II" and "The World". The book "Patisserie International" ("International Pastry") is a collection of his best recipes and a perfect guide for other pastry chefs to study the pastry on a world class level. Datuk Chef Wan came back to the world famous cookery school Le Cordon Bleu in Paris for a second demonstration after his masterclass in March during Paris Cookbook Fair. This time a group of Malaysian fans accompanied him for an instructive pastry demonstration on macaroons by Chef instructor Jean-Francois Deguignet. The demonstration was filmed and will be aired on a special program devoted to Chef Wan’s travels around the world to introduce Malaysians the culinary richness and specialties of each country.

Gourmand World Cookbook Award winning German photographer Thomas Ruhl (picture below) is organizing the next issue of the symposium Chef-Sache ("Chef-Issue") in Cologne, 18-19 september. Amongst the celebrity chefs cooking live on stage are three star chef Elena Arzak, who won a Gourmand Award in 2009 and two star-chef Thomas Bühner, from Germany, who won a Gourmand World Cookbook Award in 2007.
