Chefs help New Zealand Earthquake victims with a cookbook
Charity Cookbook will be presented at Paris Cookbook Fair
On March 7 at 19h a very special book will be launched at Paris Cookbook Fair: the fund raising charity cookbook for Christchurch Earthquake victims with recipes by famous and Gourmand Award-winning chefs and cookbook authors from all over the globe.
The book was organized in March 2011 at the previous Paris Cookbook Fair by Susan van Schreven, the founder of Orphans Aid International, registered in 2004 as a New Zealand Charitable Trust.
On February 22, less than two week before the opening of Paris Cookbook Fair 2011 the Christchurch earthquake became New Zealand´s worst peacetime disaster with the damage of the second-largest city of the country and the killing of nearly 200 people. At Paris Cookbook Fair Chefs and authors agreed to help with a unique cookbook.
With more than 30 recipes by famous chefs and authors on 120 pages and many previously unreleased pictures of Paris Cookbook Fair 2011 this book is a unique treasure for every cookbook lover.
The net proceeds will go to Orphans Aid International towards Christchurch Earthquake Relief.
The book was coordinated by Thierry Bertman, with Evert Kornmayer and Olaf Plotke.
The charity book is published in Germany by Gourmand Awards-winning publisher Kornmayer the year that New Zealand will be the Guest of Honour at Frankfurt Book Fair. It is part of the bridge built with books between New Zealand and the world.
The presentation of the book will take place at Le 104, 5 rue Curial, 75019 Paris.
Many of the chefs involved in this project will be present for the launch of the book, including Vefa Alexiadou (Greece), Chakall (Germany), Sara Baer-Sinnott (USA), Edith Kubiena (Austria), James McIntosh (UK), Kathrin Plotke (Germany), Chef Ramzi (Lebanon), Cyril Rouquet (France), Marlena Spieler (USA) and Chef Wan (Malaysia).
A special edition of 10 will be signed exclusively by each chef.
The signed and unsigned versions of the book are sold during Paris Cookbook Fair.
A Welcome Party will follow the book launch, with much food and drinks, throughout the whole fair.
