Edouard Cointreau New President of WFWF TV

At the WFWF-TV Festival of Food Television, Edouard Cointreau has been elected President of the Association of World Food and Wine TV Producers.
This trade show in Qingdao (Shandong/China) organizes the buying and selling of food and wine programs, conferences and round tables, screening and launches of international co-productions.
There were three candidates for President, from America, Asia and Europe. Edouard Cointreau was the candidate for Europe. His leadership with cookbooks was the key to the election, as cookbooks have become a major element of the profits for food televisions. He is the producer of hit shows such as “Food on the Silk Road” with Chef Wan, Yvan Cadiou, Chakall, and James McIntosh, “Ramadan with Chef Ramzi” and “Chakall in Andalucía”.
In his acceptance speech, Edouard Cointreau underlined the social significance of food TV shows. They are now present in every country of the world, on most TV channels. They send a message of comfort and peace, bridging culinary cultures around the world, from the Eight Cuisines of China in the East, to the French Table in the West. They play a very important role in the safekeeping of recipes and food experience, transmitting the knowledge through generations.
In his speech, Edouard Cointreau said he was very thankful for the honour of being selected President for WFWF-TV in “Friendly Shandong”, the leading province for wine in China, with Yantai wineries such as Changyu and Cofco - Great Wall. Next to the Number One Chinese, Chateau Junding, the French are present with Dominique Auzias, Chateau Lafite-Rothschild, and Cognac Frapin which is distributed by Changyu. Edouard Cointreau also revealed he had made agreements during the Festival for the broadcast of his series “Great Wines of the World” in several markets of Asia, starting with 50 episodes already filmed in France and Spain, following with the next 50 which will be filmed in Europe as well as in the New World.
Wen Hai, President for the China Food TV Network, was elected Secretary General of WFWF-TV. He is the pioneer of the sector in China, with the Imperial Cuisine Competition that has been leading the audience charts since 2001. His most recent success is “Walking Chopsticks”, an international co-production with 900 episodes of 26 minutes.
